Full Description

Experiencing the night in the Sahara Desert is a fantastic memory for visitors to Morocco, and this three-day journey allows you to explore deeper and learn more along the way.

Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the Valley of the Roses, and Tinghir, as well as traditional Berber towns in the Todra Gorge, before taking a camel ride over Morocco’s highest dunes, the Erg Chebbi, and sleeping under the stars in a Berber tent at the camp.

Day 1

Marrakech– Tizi-N-Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

Our staff will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech between 7:10 and 7:30 am and accompany you to the departure point in the main square, Jamaa El Fna.

Leaving around 7:45 a.m., you will cross the High Atlas mountains and Col Tichka at 2260 meters, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, and have lunch in Ouarzazate. You will then travel through the Skoura oasis, Kalaat M’gouna, and the Valley of Roses to the Dadès Valley.

Stay the night in a Dadès hotel with half-board (dinner and breakfast included).

Day 2

Dades Gorges – Tenghir – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast at your hotel, leave the gorges of Dades for Erg Chebbi, at the gateway to the Sahara desert. See the Berber villages scattered along the way, and pass through Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud to get a feel for the Saharan landscape. See the oasis of Tafilalet before your arrival in Merzouga. Break to relax in Merzouga for a few moments. As the sun sets, we climb on the back of a camel for 1 hour and 30 minutes and cross the sand dunes en route to a nomadic Berber camp. See the sand dunes and the desert landscape from a timeless perspective as you listen to the camp drums in the desert in the middle of the Sahara.

Take photographs of the breathtaking sunset from the top of a high dune. Then, go to camp to enjoy the night in a nomad camp with a bonfire and berber music dance, resting under the starry sky, before you fall asleep.

Day 3

Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. Ride your camel back to Merzouga for breakfast at the Auberge.

Pick up the rest of your luggage and begin your journey back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, stopping for lunch at one of the roadside restaurants before arriving in Marrakech around 20:00.
