Full Description

Experiencing the night in the Sahara Desert is a fantastic memory for visitors to Morocco, and this three-day journey allows you to explore deeper and learn more along the way.

Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the Valley of the Roses, and Tinghir, as well as traditional Berber towns in the Todra Gorge, before taking a camel ride over Morocco’s highest dunes, the Erg Chebbi, and sleeping under the stars in a Berber tent at the camp.

Day 1

Marrakech– Tizi-N-Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

The members of our team will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech about 7:30 a.m. and take you to the departure point, which is located in the main square, Jamaa El Fna.
The itinerary begins with an ascent of the High Atlas mountains and Col Tichka at 2260m, followed by a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, lunch in Ouarzazate, and a travel via the Skoura oasis, Kalaat M’gouna, and the Valley of Roses to the Dadès Valley.
Stay in your own private room at an affordable hotel in Dadès with half-board (dinner and breakfast included).

Day 2

Dades Gorges – Tenghir – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast at your lodgings, leave the Dades gorges for Erg Chebbi, the Sahara desert’s entrance. Travel via Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud to get a feel of the Saharan scenery, as well as the Berber towns that line the road. Prior to arriving at Merzouga, visit the Tafilalet oasis. Take a little break to recuperate at Merzouga. As the sun sets, we ride camels for around 1 hour and 30 minutes across the sand dunes to your private tent at the common nomadic Berber camp.

Listen to the camp drums in the midst of the Sahara desert while admiring the endless panorama of the sand dunes and surrounding landscape.

Capture a breathtaking sunset from the top of a big dune with your camera. After that, return to the camp to spend the night resting by the bonfire, dancing to Berber music, and stargazing until you fall asleep (dinner and breakfast included).

Day 3

Erg Cheebi dunes – Merzouga Auberge – Erg Cheebi dunes

Wake up early to observe the sun rise over the dunes.

Ride your camel back to Merzouga to enjoy breakfast at the Auberge. You will have time to replenish your stomach with a delicious meal and relax with a shower (optional).

It will be your day to experience life in the Sahara in a nomadic style.

Lunch may be ordered at the Merzouga Auberge for an extra fee.

In the afternoon, you may repeat your experience by climbing on the back of a camel for another hour and 30 minutes, watching the sunset, and crossing the sand dunes on your way to your private tent at the Berber camp, listening to drums in the Sahara desert allows you to experience the sand dunes and desert surroundings in a timeless way.

Take pictures of the breathtaking sunset from atop a high dune. Then, enjoy your final night of trip outdoors, ending with a second night in a nomad camp with a bonfire and berber music entertainment, resting beneath the stars before falling asleep (dinner and breakfast included).

Day 4

Merzouga – Midelt – Ifran – Fes

Wake up early to catch the dawn over the dunes. Ride your camel back to Merzouga for breakfast at the Auberge, then prepare for a new day away from Merzouga on your trip to Fes, where you change the driver but never the performance. Before you knock on Fes’ door, you will need to take some time off to get settled into the new vehicle.

The driving road is to cross the Ziz Valley through Errachidia or Ighrem n Ulzuz, referring to Ksar Essouk, to stop in Midelt to feed your travel soul’s hungry belly before driving across the Middle Atlas Mountains and the gems of the pine woods, Imouzzar and Ifran, which are known in Morocco as a “Little Switzerland”.
We reach in Fes at 18:00 pm.
